Welcome to Rennie Lake, the best kept secret in Grand Traverse county!
Just 12 miles from Traverse city, yet surrounded by miles of beautiful forest, Rennie Lake is a great place to "get away from it all". The best part of our lake are the people. I love the fact that people come up here to have a good time and leave their troubles at home. Michigan is known to be a friendly state, and up here in the North County, we have the nicest people of all.
The Pig Roast was a great success. Thanks to all that came.
Our lake is quiet enough to host our own breeding pair of loons, yet large enough to host water sports. The best of both worlds. Let's work to make it last.
Loon update
Looks like our breeding pair of loons are no longer. One of them died last year and it looks like there have been numerous younger loons looking at our lake. There was an attempt at a nest on the island this spring, but the nest was too close to the water and the eggs never hatched.
Hoping next year is better as we haven't had baby loons on the lake for two years.

All I can say is, "If you're lucky enough to live on a lake, well, you're lucky enough!"
Rennie Lake Boating Ordinances
There are often questions about the boating hours of Rennie lake. There are two sets of rules.
Grand Traverse counties boating ordinances #02 and #20 say that no-wake boating is from 6:30 PM to 10 AM.
The State of Michigan also says that no-wake boating is from 6:30 PM to 10 AM.
Please respect the rights of others and limit your highspeed boating and towing within the letter of the law.
Visit our discussion boards and add your input.
I've added a new topic called Lake Associations. Not sure if there is a need or desire to have an association on Rennie Lake, but this is a place to discuss the possiblity.
